
Beijing, May 14: U.S. President Donald Trump is currently on a visit to China. On Thursday, President Xi Jinping warmly welcomed him at the Great Hall of the People. A grand ceremony was organized for the American President, featuring a choreographed military show performed by Chinese soldiers.
At the Great Hall, Trump and Xi are holding bilateral meetings with their delegations. Before the discussions, both leaders delivered opening remarks.
During the welcoming ceremony, Trump and Xi walked on a red carpet while Chinese soldiers stood in formation, accompanied by traditional music. A group of children also gathered near the red carpet, waving Chinese and American flags and celebrating with bouquets of flowers.

After Trump’s arrival, the two leaders shook hands warmly, marking the beginning of a significant welcome ceremony. A military band played “The Star-Spangled Banner,” while schoolchildren joyfully jumped and celebrated.
Following this, both leaders shook hands with Chinese and American officials and observed a line of Chinese military personnel. Standing on the red carpet, the two presidents watched as Chinese soldiers marched, waving both American and Chinese flags. China is renowned for its well-choreographed military demonstrations, which were last showcased during a military parade commemorating the end of World War II last September.
It is noteworthy that Trump and Xi last met in October during an APEC summit in South Korea, where they agreed on a trade deal. The leaders will discuss critical issues such as technology, trade, the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran during their meeting.
