Washington, May 5: President Donald Trump stated that the U.S. military’s actions against Iran are progressing effectively. He emphasized that Iran’s power has significantly diminished and must not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons under any circumstances.
Speaking at the White House during National Small Business Week, Trump described the operation as essential to prevent a major threat. He asserted, “We cannot allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons.”
According to Trump, Iran’s military capabilities have been severely weakened. He noted that the country no longer has a navy, air force, or effective defenses against aerial attacks, indicating that its defense capacity is nearly eradicated. He also mentioned that Iran’s top leaders are no longer in a strong position, and their leadership has weakened.
Trump characterized the operation as limited yet impactful, referring to it as a “mini war.” He stressed that the U.S. military is achieving its objectives. He dismissed criticisms of the operation and claims of low public support, arguing that if people were fully informed, support would increase.
He remarked, “Only 32 percent of people like it… but when you explain it to them… that number doesn’t stay at 32 percent.” Trump also highlighted the strength of the U.S. military, asserting that the country possesses the world’s most powerful armed forces.
Linking the conflict to the oil market, Trump noted that initial fears of soaring oil prices did not materialize, and prices remain under control, with potential for further decline. He stated, “They thought energy prices would reach $300… but it’s around $100 now… and I believe it will go lower.”
Trump indicated that supply issues are easing, and as conditions normalize, oil prices may drop even further. Despite military actions, he claimed that the U.S. stock market remains robust and has reached new highs during this period.
