Washington, March 21: President Donald Trump asserted that Iran’s military is “completely destroyed,” despite ongoing ground conflicts and global concerns over oil supply routes and regional stability.
Speaking to reporters on the South Lawn of the White House, Trump stated that the U.S. is nearing the end of its military operations.
He remarked, “We are very close to achieving our goals and are considering concluding our major military campaign against Iran’s terrorist regime in the Middle East.”
Trump outlined his objectives, emphasizing the need to completely weaken Iran’s missile capabilities, launch systems, and related assets. Additionally, he aims to dismantle Iran’s defense industry and eliminate its navy, air force, and anti-aircraft weapons.
He made it clear that the U.S. will prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons and ensure it does not come close to acquiring nuclear capabilities.
In his conversation with journalists, Trump claimed that the military situation is entirely in favor of the U.S. He stated, “I believe we have won. We have destroyed everything and are operating completely freely. From a military perspective, they are finished.”
Despite calls from various countries for a ceasefire, Trump clarified that he is not in favor of one. He said, “When you are completely destroying the opponent, you do not call for a ceasefire. We are not considering that.”
Trump also addressed the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial oil route for the world. He mentioned that countries dependent on this route should take responsibility for its security.
He stated, “The U.S. is not reliant on this route. Europe, Korea, Japan, China, and many other countries need it, so they must step up.”
He described reopening this route as an “easy military step,” but noted that it would require significant cooperation and resources. He also pointed out that NATO has yet to show the courage to act on this matter.
Trump suggested that allied countries should play a significant role as well. When asked about countries like Australia and South Korea, he expressed surprise at their hesitation and urged them to take action.
He also highlighted his coordination with Israel, stating, “We both want to win, and we are achieving that.”
Regarding the Russia-Ukraine issue, Trump mentioned that discussions are ongoing, with talks happening almost daily.
He dismissed concerns about economic impacts, such as rising oil prices and market volatility, asserting that military action was necessary.
He stated, “We will not allow terrorists to acquire nuclear weapons, and we are striking hard against them.” He also claimed that this campaign is progressing several weeks ahead of schedule.
