Washington, March 14: The intense conflict between the United States-Israel and Iran continues to escalate, impacting several nations. Former President Donald Trump made a significant claim on Saturday via social media. He stated on Truth Social that Iran aimed to seize control of the entire Middle East and completely annihilate Israel. He asserted that Iran’s plans are now effectively over.
The United States has conducted a major bombing attack on Iran’s critical Kharg Island. Trump confirmed these attacks, claiming that U.S. forces have completely destroyed military bases located at the country’s main oil export center, while intentionally avoiding damage to energy infrastructure.
In his post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Under my orders, U.S. Central Command executed one of the most powerful bombing raids in Middle Eastern history. Every military installation on Kharg Island has been completely obliterated. Our weapons are among the most powerful and advanced in the world, but out of humanity, I decided not to destroy the oil infrastructure on the island.”
Kharg Island is a crucial hub for Iran and one of its most significant locations for crude oil exports. A large portion of Iran’s oil production is transported through facilities located on this island in the Persian Gulf.
Trump further warned that if Iran disrupts maritime traffic in the region, this decision could be reconsidered. He stated, “If Iran or anyone else obstructs the safe and unobstructed passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, I will immediately reconsider my decision.”
The conflict between the U.S.-Israel and Iran began on February 28, when the U.S. and Israel launched joint airstrikes. These attacks resulted in the deaths of several officials, including Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Following Khamenei’s death, Iran targeted multiple U.S. bases, launching missiles and drones at Israeli, American, and regional allies.
