Trump Accuses Obama of Strengthening Iran with Billions in Cash Transfers

New Delhi, May 11: Former U.S. President Donald Trump has once again launched a fierce attack on Iran’s policies and the actions of former President Barack Obama. Trump claims that Obama’s administration significantly strengthened Iran both economically and politically, despite Iran’s long history of deceiving the United States.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump stated, “Iran has been playing games with America and the rest of the world for the past 47 years. They have consistently delayed, adopting a ‘not today, maybe tomorrow’ approach. Their biggest opportunity arose when Barack Hussein Obama became President. Obama was not just lenient towards Iran; he completely sided with them. He ignored Israel and other allied nations, giving Iran a major chance to regain strength.”

Trump alleged that Iran received hundreds of billions of dollars, including $1.7 billion in cash flown directly to Tehran. He claimed that so much money was withdrawn from banks in Washington D.C., Virginia, and Maryland that Iranian leaders were bewildered about how to handle it. This money was reportedly transported in suitcases and bags, leaving the Iranians astonished by the windfall.

Describing Obama as a “weak and foolish president,” Trump asserted that Iran finally found a leader they could easily manipulate. He further remarked that while Obama was a poor leader for America, he was not as ineffective as “Sleepy Joe Biden.”

Trump accused Iran of continuously entangling the U.S. over the past 47 years, leading to the deaths of American citizens in roadside bombings. He noted that Iran has recently killed 42,000 innocent and unarmed protesters. Trump concluded that Iran will no longer be able to mock the U.S. as the country is on the path to becoming “great” again.

Trump’s remarks followed a statement from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who advised not to misinterpret ongoing peace talks with the U.S. as a sign of weakness. In a Sunday social media post, Pezeshkian emphasized, “We will not bow our heads before the enemy. If discussions or negotiations arise, it does not mean surrender or retreat. Rather, it aims to uphold Iran’s rights and firmly protect national interests.”
