Transforming Education in Sahibganj: PM Shri Scheme Enhances School Facilities

Mumbai, April 7: The ambitious PM Shri School Scheme by the central government is revolutionizing the educational landscape in Sahibganj district, Jharkhand. This initiative aims to equip selected schools across the country with modern facilities, transforming them into model institutions.

Currently, there are 14 PM Shri schools operating in the district, including the Mirzachauki Upgraded High School, which has been designated as a PM Shri Upgraded High School. The government’s goal is to provide quality education and a better learning environment for children.

Students in PM Shri schools now benefit from smart classrooms, digital boards, modern laboratories, well-stocked libraries, clean toilets, and secure campuses. Teachers are also receiving training in new technologies and modern teaching methods to enhance the quality of education. This initiative aims to implement the National Education Policy 2020 at the grassroots level, promoting creativity, skill development, digital learning, and self-reliance among students. These changes have sparked enthusiasm and increased interest in learning among students.

Rajnikant Dwivedi, the principal of PM Shri Upgraded High School in Mirzachauki, stated in an interview that the establishment of PM Shri schools by the Government of India aims to ensure quality education and a better environment. He noted that 14 schools in the district have received this status, and students are excelling in sports and cultural activities. Educational tours are also organized to historical sites, enriching students’ knowledge and experiences.

Chandan Kumar, a teacher at the school, emphasized that the PM Shri scheme has proven to be highly beneficial for the schools. It has increased resource availability, providing a better environment for learning. Previously, a lack of resources hindered education, but now teaching and learning processes are running more smoothly, leading to improved examination results.

Students have also reported positive changes due to this initiative. One student mentioned that since the school became a PM Shri institution in 2024, CCTV cameras have been installed, and teachers continuously motivate students in their studies. There is no discrimination in the school, and cultural programs are organized for the holistic development of children. Pihu Kumari, a 10th-grade student, noted that sports and cultural activities are now regularly held, boosting students’ confidence.

Simran Kumari, another student, highlighted that teachers are paying special attention to each child’s education, and many positive changes have been observed since the school became a PM Shri institution.
