Tragic Shooting Incident Claims Lives of Uttar Pradesh Couple

Rampur, May 21: A shocking incident has emerged from Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, where a couple, Sunil Rastogi and his wife Neha Rastogi, were found dead in their home. Their bodies were discovered on the second-floor terrace, covered in blood, early in the morning.

Residents reported hearing gunshots around 7 AM. At the time, the couple’s children were asleep downstairs. Upon hearing the commotion, their son, Piyush Rastogi, and daughter, Krishi, rushed upstairs, only to find their parents lifeless on the floor. Their screams echoed through the neighborhood.

Following the gunfire and the children’s cries, nearby residents rushed into the house. Reports indicate that Sunil sustained a gunshot wound to the neck, while Neha was shot beside her neck. The incident has sent shockwaves throughout the community, prompting locals to alert the police.

Upon receiving the information, Inspector Pradeep Kumar, accompanied by a significant police presence, arrived at the scene. Given the location’s proximity to the market, the police cordoned off the area and initiated an investigation. A rifle was found at the scene, which has been seized as evidence. A forensic team has also been called in to examine all aspects of the case.

Police officials stated that a thorough investigation is underway. Initial findings suggest that the circumstances surrounding the incident are suspicious. Authorities are working to determine the events leading up to the tragedy and the motives behind it. CCTV footage from nearby cameras is currently being reviewed.

Neighbors speculated that the shooting could have resulted from cleaning the rifle, although this theory seems unlikely. Reports indicate that there were no known disputes within the Rastogi family. The community is in shock and distress over this tragic event. The police have taken both bodies into custody for autopsy at the hospital, and Additional Superintendent of Police Anurag Singh has arrived at the scene.
