Tragic Road Accident Claims Lives of Four Young Men in Porbandar

Porbandar, April 6: Union Sports Minister and Porbandar MP Mansukh Mandaviya expressed profound sorrow over the tragic road accident near Porbandar Airport that resulted in the deaths of four young men. He described the incident as deeply saddening and heartbreaking.

In a post on the social media platform X, Mandaviya stated that the untimely demise of promising youths in the accident is extremely tragic. He prayed for peace for the departed souls and strength for the grieving families to bear this unbearable loss.

The accident occurred early in the morning on Airport Road in Porbandar when two motorcycles collided head-on. Five young men were riding on the two bikes, which were reportedly speeding at the time of the crash. The impact caused them to fall onto the road, resulting in severe injuries.

Local residents and emergency personnel rushed to the scene and transported the injured to the hospital via ambulance. Three of the young men were declared dead upon arrival, while another succumbed to injuries during treatment at Bhavsinhji Hospital in Porbandar.

One survivor is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Jamnagar. The deceased have been identified as 26-year-old Milan Badarshahi, 18-year-old Dipesh Dhakecha, 17-year-old Vanraj Jhala, and 24-year-old Piyush Lodhari.

The 14-year-old injured individual, Pratik Nilesh Jethwa, is reported to be in stable condition.

Preliminary reports indicate that three of the victims were returning from a mourning prayer event in Ranavav when their motorcycle collided with another bike coming from the opposite direction. The collision occurred between 5:00 AM and 5:40 AM, scattering debris across the road and severely damaging both motorcycles.

Police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and registered an accidental death case. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses to determine the cause of the collision. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination.
