Tragic Incident in Motihari: Six Children Drown in River

Motihari, March 3: A heartbreaking tragedy has unfolded in Motihari, Bihar, where six children drowned while bathing in a river. The incident has cast a pall of sorrow over the entire village, transforming the festive spirit ahead of Holi into deep mourning.

This unfortunate event occurred in the Raghwa Panchayat of the Kesariya block. Reports indicate that a group of children went to bathe in the Raghwa River. During their swim, six of them ventured into deeper waters and began to struggle. By the time locals were alerted and rescue efforts commenced, it was too late.

Villagers, witnessing the children drowning, raised an alarm and, with the help of local divers, managed to retrieve the children from the river. Tragically, all six had already lost their lives. This incident has shaken the entire community.

Among the deceased are 12-year-old Diksha Kumari, daughter of Dharmendra Sahni, along with her sisters Priya Kumari (6) and Sonakshi Kumari (9). Additionally, 12-year-old Sonali Kumari (father Kameshwar Sahni), 11-year-old Prince Kumar (father Manoj Sahni), and 8-year-old Choti Kumari (father Manoj Kumar Sahni) also drowned.

The Raghwa Panchayat is engulfed in grief following this tragedy. The families of the deceased are inconsolable, and the village is filled with cries of despair. Local authorities have been notified of the incident, and further actions are being taken.
