Tragic Incident in Koderma: 10th Grader Commits Suicide in School Hostel

Mumbai, May 4: A tragic incident occurred in Koderma district, Jharkhand, where a 10th-grade student took his own life in a private school hostel on Sunday night. The deceased has been identified as 17-year-old Udit Yadav, a resident of Farenda in Lakkhibag.

The family of the victim has raised serious questions about the school’s management practices. Udit’s older brother, Aditya Kumar, stated that he visited the school twice on Sunday to see his brother. After their meeting around 5:30 PM, they received a call from another student informing them that Udit was unwell. When the family rushed to the school, they found Udit lifeless on the hostel room floor.

According to the school management, Udit had hanged himself using a towel in his room. He was subsequently taken to Sadar Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The family claims that Udit had moved into the hostel about five months ago to prepare for the upcoming 10th-grade board exams. They argue that he would not have taken such a drastic step.

The family is demanding a thorough and impartial investigation, accusing the school management of negligence. They expressed concerns about how such an incident could occur in the presence of numerous students and staff. On the other hand, the school’s director, Pramod Kumar, stated that Udit had been mentally distressed for the past four to five days and did not want to continue studying in the hostel.

Upon receiving news of the incident, local police from Tilaiya arrived at the scene, took possession of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. Police officials indicated that the exact cause of death would be revealed following the post-mortem report. Currently, the police are meticulously investigating every aspect of the case.
