
Chamba, May 11: A heartbreaking road accident occurred in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, on Monday, where a tourist vehicle lost control and plunged into a deep gorge. Reports indicate that six individuals lost their lives, while four others sustained injuries.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed his sorrow over the incident. He extended his wishes for the swift recovery of the injured.
On the social media platform X, CM Sukhu wrote, “I am deeply saddened to hear about the car accident near Kakira in Chamba district, which resulted in the deaths of six people and injuries to four others. My heartfelt condolences go out to the families who have lost their loved ones. I pray for the quick recovery of the injured. May God grant peace to the souls of the departed and strength to their families to bear this immense grief.”
The accident took place near Kakira in the Ghar area along the Chamba-Nurpur National Highway. The crash was so severe that the vehicle was completely mangled. At the time of the incident, there were ten people in the car. Upon receiving news of the accident, a police team quickly arrived at the scene, where rescue operations commenced with the assistance of local residents.
The injured individuals were transported to the hospital after receiving initial treatment. Meanwhile, the police have taken possession of the bodies and sent them for post-mortem. An investigation has been initiated to determine the causes of the accident.
