Noida, May 8: The police in Noida’s Sector 1 have apprehended three notorious criminals involved in an inter-state vehicle theft and mobile snatching ring. The authorities recovered 17 stolen motorcycles and scooters, along with 8 mobile phones and 3 illegal knives from the suspects. The vehicles were reported stolen from various police precincts across Noida and the Delhi-NCR region.
According to police reports, the arrests were made on Thursday based on manual intelligence and confidential information near F-95 in Sector 8. The suspects have been identified as Suraj alias Chheda (24), Anil Kumar alias Golu (30), and Sushil Mishra alias Baba (29).
All three suspects reside in the village of Chhijarsi in Sector 63. Investigations revealed that this gang executed vehicle thefts with remarkable cunning. They would first scout neighborhoods, societies, factories, and companies. After identifying suitable targets, they would break the locks of parked motorcycles and scooters to steal them. The stolen vehicles were then hidden in various locations to evade police detection.
These stolen vehicles were later utilized in mobile snatching and other criminal activities. Police noted that the gang frequently changed their base and was active in the NCR region. Numerous serious cases, including vehicle theft, robbery, snatching, the Gangster Act, and the Arms Act, have been registered against the suspects in various police stations across Noida, Ghaziabad, and Delhi.
The main suspect, Suraj alias Chheda, has over 30 criminal cases registered against him alone. Anil Kumar and Sushil Mishra also have multiple serious charges against them. Police are currently investigating the gang’s other members and the network involved in the buying and selling of stolen vehicles based on the suspects’ interrogations.
