Three Bowlers Achieve Multiple Hat-Tricks in IPL History, Yuvraj Singh Among Them

New Delhi, March 22: The 19th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to kick off on March 28. The opening match will feature Royal Challengers Bangalore against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium. To date, bowlers in the IPL have claimed a total of 23 hat-tricks. Notably, three bowlers have achieved the remarkable feat of securing more than one hat-trick in this league.

Yuvraj Singh: Known for his explosive batting, Yuvraj Singh has also made a significant impact with the ball in the IPL. In the 2009 season, his spinning deliveries troubled many batsmen. While playing for Punjab Kings, Yuvraj took not one, but two hat-tricks during IPL 2009.

He remains the only bowler to have claimed two hat-tricks in a single IPL season. On May 1, 2009, against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Yuvraj dismissed Robin Uthappa, Jacques Kallis, and Mark Boucher with three consecutive balls. Later that season, he achieved his second hat-trick against Deccan Chargers, taking out Herschelle Gibbs, Andrew Symonds, and Venugopal Rao.

Amit Mishra: Amit Mishra stands out as the only bowler in IPL history to have taken three hat-tricks. While playing for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), he secured his first hat-trick in 2008 against Deccan Chargers. In 2011, wearing the Deccan Chargers jersey, he dismissed three Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) batsmen in succession. In 2013, while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad, he completed his hat-trick against Pune Warriors.

Yuzvendra Chahal: Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has also recorded two hat-tricks in the IPL. In 2022, while playing for Rajasthan Royals, he took out three Kolkata Knight Riders batsmen with three consecutive deliveries. In IPL 2025, Chahal achieved his second hat-trick at Chepauk against Chennai Super Kings, dismissing Deepak Hooda, Anshul Kamboj, and Noor Ahmad.
