New Delhi, July 15: BJP MP Tarun Chugh has praised the central government’s decision to establish Autonomous Development Councils in all seven districts of Ladakh. He described this move as a significant and visionary step towards the development of border areas. Chugh emphasized that this decision will enhance the participation of local representatives, bring administration closer to the public, and play a crucial role in the overall development of the region.
In a conversation, the MP expressed his appreciation for the establishment of these councils. He extended his heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for their relentless efforts to integrate remote areas into the mainstream of development. The initiative reflects the government’s foresight in promoting local representation and empowering citizens. This initiative is expected to create new job opportunities for youth, improve administrative efficiency, and strengthen governance accessibility.
Chugh further stated that this decision marks the beginning of a new era for the development, cultural preservation, and public participation in Ladakh. The central government’s commitment ensures that no border area is left behind in development, and this decision is a testament to that resolve.
In relation to the recent court ruling that found Tahir Hussain guilty in the Ankit Sharma murder case, Chugh remarked that this is a victory for justice, the Constitution, and the rule of law. The verdict sends a clear message that no matter how influential an accused person may be, they must answer to the law. He criticized the Aam Aadmi Party and its national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, demanding an explanation for the political protection extended to the then-councillor Tahir Hussain. Chugh insisted that Kejriwal should publicly apologize to the people of Delhi, especially to the victims’ families.
The BJP MP accused Hussain of targeting Hindus during the Delhi riots and of murdering Ankit Sharma, an officer with the Intelligence Bureau (IB). He urged those who provided protection to such individuals to clarify their roles. Chugh also called out Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and other opposition leaders, questioning their motives for creating an atmosphere favoring the accused rather than the victims. He raised concerns about why some continue to defend Hussain despite his conviction, asserting that such actions disrespect the judiciary and the rule of law. The BJP remains committed to ensuring complete justice for the families affected by the Delhi riots.
