BSNL 2GB Plan

State-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has once again revised the validity of several prepaid plans, signalling a silent but steady tariff hike in the Indian telecom market. While operators are not officially acknowledging a price increase, changes in validity periods clearly reflect the industry’s rising cost pressures.

BSNL 2GB Plan

Among the revised plans, BSNL’s widely used ₹107 prepaid plan has seen one of the steepest cuts in validity — without any change in price.

BSNL ₹107 Plan Voucher

The ₹107 plan earlier offered:

  • 200 minutes of voice calls

  • Unlimited data (speed reduced to 40 Kbps after 3GB)

  • 28 days validity

BSNL has now shortened the validity to 22 days, keeping pricing and benefits unchanged.
The plan originally launched with 35 days validity, which was cut to 30 days, then 28 days, and is now at its lowest — 22 days.

Why Users Prefer the ₹107 Plan

The ₹107 voucher has long been a favourite among users who keep BSNL as a secondary SIM, mainly due to its affordable validity, minutes, and limited data benefits. With the latest revision, BSNL appears to be nudging customers toward using BSNL as a primary number, especially with the rollout of PAN-India high-speed 4G based on indigenous technology.

BSNL ₹147 Prepaid STV

  • Validity reduced: 25 days → 24 days

  • Benefits: Unlimited voice calling (Local/STD/Roaming)

  • Data: Unlimited, 40 Kbps after 5GB
(Earlier this month, the data benefit was cut from 10GB to 5GB.)

BSNL Plan Voucher ₹153

  • Voice: Unlimited calling to all networks (including MTNL in Delhi/Mumbai)

  • Data: Unlimited, 40 Kbps after 1GB/day

  • SMS: 100 SMS/day

  • Validity reduced: 26 → 25 → 24 days

BSNL ₹197 Prepaid Plan Voucher

  • Voice: 300 minutes

  • Data: Unlimited, 40 Kbps after 4GB

  • SMS: 100

  • Validity reduced: 54 → 48 → 42 days

BSNL has made multiple cuts to this plan, bringing its validity down significantly over time.

These revisions indicate that BSNL, like other telecom operators, is adjusting prepaid offerings as part of broader tariff rationalisation trends expected across the industry in 2025.
