Sunday on Cycle Initiative Becomes a Nationwide Movement: Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya

New Delhi, April 12: Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, announced on Sunday that the ‘Sunday on Cycle’ initiative has transformed into a nationwide movement.

Speaking to reporters, Dr. Mandaviya stated, “Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the youth of the country have become more aware of fitness. The PM’s Fit India message is not just a slogan; it is essential for a developed India. For India to progress, our youth must be healthy and fit. Healthy citizens create a healthy society, and a healthy society leads to a prosperous nation.”

He urged all young people to stay healthy and contribute to building a prosperous nation.

Launched in December 2024 under the Fit India campaign by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the ‘Sunday on Cycle’ initiative is led by Dr. Mandaviya. He actively promotes this program not only in Delhi but across various cities in the country. This weekly nationwide fitness campaign aims to promote health, reduce obesity, and encourage cycling as an eco-friendly practice.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports collaborates with various institutions to host this program weekly, engaging millions of young participants. To enhance youth participation, prominent figures from the sports sector are also involved. When well-known athletes join this initiative, it significantly raises awareness about health and fitness among the youth. Prime Minister Narendra Modi firmly believes that a healthy youth can play a pivotal role in the nation’s development. This vision has propelled the Fit India campaign, which is now successfully conducted nationwide.
