Subhash Ghai Reflects on Gulzars Wisdom: Poetry Springs from the Human Soul

New Delhi, April 20: In an era where technology and artificial intelligence are rapidly advancing, the significance of true art and emotions is increasingly being discussed. Recently, renowned filmmaker Subhash Ghai captured public attention with a heartfelt post on social media.

On Monday, Ghai shared a touching tribute to the legendary lyricist and poet Gulzar, posting a picture of him tending to plants. Alongside the image, Ghai wrote, “Poetry is not born from machines or technology, but from the human soul and thought.”

He expressed, “I learned this lesson by spending time with Gulzar Sahib. His companionship helped me understand that the true purpose of poetry is to stir the human soul. I sincerely thank him for this.”

Ghai revealed that he initiated poetry classes at his film school to ensure that students do not limit themselves to technical knowledge but also grasp their thoughts and emotions. He emphasized, “Unless a story has soul and depth, it cannot reach the hearts of the audience. This is why Gulzar Ji focused on strengthening students spiritually and emotionally.”

Speaking of Gulzar, he is regarded as one of the most esteemed and celebrated lyricists in Indian cinema. He has penned memorable songs for films like “Aandhi,” “Masoom,” “Ijaazat,” “Dil Se,” and “Slumdog Millionaire.” Notably, he received an Oscar Award for the song “Jai Ho.” Over a career spanning more than six decades, he has touched millions of hearts with his writing.

Subhash Ghai is among the directors in Hindi cinema who have won audiences over with their films. He began his directorial career in 1976 with “Kali Churan” and went on to deliver several blockbuster films, including “Karma,” “Ram Lakhan,” “Saudagar,” “Khalnayak,” “Pardes,” and “Taal.”
