Students from Kanpur Visit UP Assembly to Learn Democratic Values

Lucknow, May 15: The Uttar Pradesh Assembly transformed into a vibrant democratic classroom on Friday as students from various schools in Kanpur observed the proceedings, parliamentary traditions, and democratic processes up close.

On this occasion, Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana engaged warmly with the students, emphasizing that mere textbook knowledge is insufficient. Understanding the functioning of democratic institutions is equally essential.

He stated that today’s students are the informed citizens and future builders of the nation. Therefore, it is crucial to cultivate a sense of respect for the Constitution, democratic values, and public welfare among them.

Students from Vivekanand Vidya Niketan Inter College, Ashoka Education Center, and Poornachandra Vidyaniketan participated in this educational visit with their teachers. They learned about the historical and administrative features of the Assembly and witnessed the proceedings, question hour, and legislative process firsthand.

Satish Mahana provided detailed insights into the functioning of the Assembly, the law-making process, and the responsibilities of public representatives. He highlighted that the Assembly is a vital platform for discussing issues related to the public and for enacting laws that shape the development of the state. He noted that such educational visits foster leadership skills, awareness, and a sense of responsibility among students.

He also encouraged students to embrace discipline, positive thinking, and continuous learning, stating that success comes not only from education but also from values, hard work, and sensitivity towards society. The enthusiasm among students during the visit was palpable.

The students posed many curious questions related to the democratic system, which the Assembly Speaker answered in a simple and inspiring manner. Teachers and management from the schools described the educational visit as highly enriching, motivational, and beneficial for the students. They noted that such experiences not only contribute to the personal development of students but also strengthen their understanding of the democratic system.
