Stars Shine at the International Film Festival Delhi, Boman Irani Reflects on Early Career Days

New Delhi, March 27: Delhi’s Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra attended the ‘International Film Festival Delhi’ (IFFD) held at Bharat Mandapam, where a memorandum of understanding for the Delhi Film City was also signed.

Bollywood actor Boman Irani shared anecdotes from his early career during the event, which also featured Manoj Bajpayee, Arjan Bajwa, and filmmaker Nikhil Advani.

Reflecting on his journey, Irani reminisced about his initial days in Hindi cinema. He stated, “I acted in a few films and did a lot in cinema, but a few years ago, I realized I should make my own film. I always wanted to create one. I had an idea and a one-page script. I thought it couldn’t get better than this, but the next day, I felt it couldn’t get worse, as writing a screenplay is quite challenging. I took several sessions to complete it.”

The actor mentioned that during the COVID period, he has been engaging with people and conducting sessions with writers, even mentoring new talents. He emphasized the need for facilities in Delhi similar to those in Mumbai.

Actor Manoj Bajpayee commented on the significance of the IFFD, stating, “This is the first international film festival held in Delhi. Previously, it was in Goa and Mumbai. My friends and I often went to watch films and sometimes volunteered. I believe it should be done on a larger scale in Delhi, allowing more films to be screened.”

Additionally, actor Arjan Bajwa expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Delhi government, saying, “Apart from Goa, there are no other international film festivals in our country. I want to congratulate the Delhi government for this initiative. It is the first time an international film festival is being held in Delhi, providing a significant platform for those wanting to connect with cinema and media.”

Filmmaker Nikhil Advani also attended the festival, stating, “I believe the more film festivals we have in the country, the better it will be. Cinema is an incredible way for our youth to tell our nation’s great stories and understand our culture and heritage.” He also thanked the Delhi government for their support.
