Mumbai, July 21: The Maharashtra government has launched a special pilgrimage train to Bodh Gaya under the Chief Minister Yatra Scheme. Approximately 800 pilgrims are participating in this journey. The state government is covering all expenses related to transportation, accommodation, meals, and other essential arrangements for the travelers.
Maharashtra Minister Sanjay Shirsat provided details about this initiative, emphasizing that special attention is being given to the comfort and safety of the pilgrims during the trip.
Speaking to reporters, Minister Shirsat stated, “This special train for Bodh Gaya will complete a six-day journey. The joy on the faces of the pilgrims is evident. The government has made all necessary arrangements to ensure that they face no difficulties.”
He added, “A team of doctors and departmental staff will be present on the train to care for the travelers. Previously, pilgrims were taken to Ayodhya to visit Ram Lalla. Now, trips are being organized based on requests from various pilgrimage sites.”
Sanjay Shirsat also mentioned that extensive security measures have been implemented for the safety of the pilgrims. Police officers, government staff, and railway officials will be on board. Given that many elderly pilgrims are participating, special care is essential. Medical facilities, support staff, and other arrangements have been provided on the train.
He explained, “The Chief Minister Yatra Scheme aims to provide opportunities for those who cannot undertake such journeys due to financial or other constraints to visit religious sites. The government is working to make the journey easier and more convenient for the pilgrims.”
Additionally, Shiv Sena Legislative Council member Manisha Kayande praised the scheme, stating, “This is a unique initiative that allows ordinary people to visit significant religious and historical sites at least once in their lives. Many individuals have been unable to travel to places like Bodh Gaya due to financial limitations or other reasons, but the Chief Minister Yatra Scheme is providing them this opportunity.”
