Ayodhya, March 17: Ayodhya, the sacred city of Lord Ram, is set to witness a historic and spiritual celebration. On March 19, the Shri Ram Yantra will be formally established at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, with President Droupadi Murmu attending as the chief guest.
This event coincides with the first day of Chaitra Navratri, marking the beginning of the Hindu New Year. The Uttar Pradesh government and the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust have planned an elaborate ceremony for this occasion.
Champat Rai, the General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, shared that the Shri Ram Yantra was sent to Ayodhya two years ago through a procession led by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Vijayendra Saraswati Maharaj. This yantra, based on Vedic mathematics and geometric shapes, is believed to attract positive energy and is currently being worshipped regularly in front of Lord Ram.
On March 19, the yantra will be placed on the second floor of the Ram Temple. A nine-day Vedic ritual has already commenced, featuring scholars from South India, Kashi, and Ayodhya. Approximately 7,000 attendees, including dignitaries from Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand who played significant roles in the temple’s construction, are expected to be present.
President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to arrive in Ayodhya around 11 AM, where she will be welcomed by Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The President will enter the temple complex to perform the worship of the Shri Ram Yantra. The main ritual for the installation will take place at 11:55 AM during the Abhijit Muhurat, with the President participating amidst Vedic chants.
Following the worship, the President will accept prasad and depart after lunch. Approximately 300 saints and distinguished guests from Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand will also attend the event. Notably, Mata Amritanandamayi from Kerala will arrive by train with 1,000 devotees. Special invitations have been sent to prominent individuals who contributed to the temple’s construction, including representatives from L&T, Tata, and the family of architect Chandrakant Bhai from Gujarat.
According to Champat Rai, around 1,800 workers involved in stone, wood, and marble carving, as well as those who crafted the deity’s idol and prepared garments, have also been invited.
To ensure a smooth and secure event, strict arrangements have been made. All guests will receive special passes with QR codes. Mobile phones, weapons, or security personnel will not be allowed in the temple complex, except for Sikh devotees who may carry a kirpan.
As this day marks the first of Chaitra Navratri, special arrangements for fruit-based meals will be made for guests. Regular darshan of Ram Lalla will continue for common devotees, although there may be temporary schedule adjustments. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government has laid out extensive plans to make this event grand.
Special attention is being given to cleanliness, decoration, and organization within the temple complex. This event is not only of religious significance but also provides an opportunity to honor the thousands of workers who contributed to the construction of the Ram Temple. The celebration in Ayodhya is poised to be a moment of faith and pride for the entire nation.
