Special Envoy of Xi Jinping Attends Ugandas Presidential Inauguration

Beijing, May 16: On May 12, at the invitation of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, a special envoy from Chinese President Xi Jinping, Losang Gyaincung, attended the presidential inauguration ceremony in Kampala, Uganda’s capital.

On May 14, Museveni met with Losang Gyaincung at the Presidential Palace. During this meeting, Gyaincung conveyed warm congratulations and greetings from Xi Jinping. He noted that under the strategic guidance of both presidents, the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Uganda has seen significant high-level development in recent years. China aims to strengthen its traditional friendship with Uganda, enhancing strategic ties and expanding cooperation across various sectors. This effort is intended to contribute more significantly to building a community with a shared future for China and Africa in the new era.

In response, Museveni requested Gyaincung to extend his greetings and salutations to Xi Jinping. He praised China’s development path and the Uganda-China relationship, expressing Uganda’s desire to provide mutual support on issues of common interest. Museveni emphasized the importance of increasing practical cooperation across various fields to benefit the people of both nations.
