New Delhi, August 5: In anticipation of the Raksha Bandhan festival, the postal department has made special arrangements in New Delhi. Special Rakhi counters have been established at 34 major post offices, as well as at the New Delhi and Delhi railway stations, to ensure timely delivery of Rakhis and other essential parcels. This was announced in an official statement on Wednesday.
The postal department has urged customers to send their Rakhis and other important items promptly. To ensure safe and timely delivery, the department recommends using 24 Speed Post and 48 Speed Post services.
According to the department, these services guarantee delivery within the specified time. If there is a delay for any reason, customers can avail themselves of a “money-back guarantee.”
This year, Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on August 28, 2026. In light of this, the postal department has made special arrangements for the booking and dispatch of Rakhi mail until August 22, 2026, ensuring that Rakhis reach their destinations across the country on time.
The department also noted that the 24 Speed Post service is available at only 35 designated booking centers. This service facilitates quick delivery to six major metropolitan areas, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad.
According to the Ministry of Communications, this service offers customers a fast, reliable, and guaranteed delivery option during the festive season, ensuring that Rakhis reach their destinations on time.
Key post offices where special counters for Rakhis have been set up include Ashok Vihar Head Post Office (HPO), New Delhi GPO, Civil Lines Post Office, New Sabzi Mandi Post Office, Chanakyapuri Post Office, Naraina Industrial Estate HPO, Delhi GPO, and Patel Nagar Post Office.
Additionally, similar facilities are available at post offices in Delhi Cantt, West Vihar, Hauz Khas, Ramesh Nagar Head Post Office, Indraprastha, Rohini Sector-7, Janakpuri, R.K. Puram Sector-5, Krishna Nagar, R.P. Bhawan, Karol Bagh, and Parliament Street.
Booking for Speed Post services is available at several centers in Delhi, including Kashmiri Gate, Vasant Lok, AMPC, Market Road, Krishna Nagar, Delhi GPO, New Delhi GPO, Naraina Industrial Estate, RMS Bhawan’s POS counter, and the e-commerce center located in Safdarjung.
