New Delhi, August 6: During a parliamentary session, Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Mohibullah Nadvi addressed several pressing issues, including the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the promotion of Kashmiri products, and the opposition’s stance against the NDA government.
Nadvi stated, “Our party leader, Akhilesh Yadav, has announced special provisions for Kashmiri individuals in Uttar Pradesh, including shops for their products. This initiative aims to spread the unique craftsmanship of Kashmir across the country. We have discussed Article 370 in Parliament, and this is recorded.”
He further emphasized, “Jammu and Kashmir should have the right to maintain its identity, similar to other hill states in the country, such as Manipur, Goa, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, and Arunachal Pradesh. They deserve this recognition.”
Nadvi held the ruling party accountable for the repeated disruptions in parliamentary proceedings. He remarked, “It is primarily the responsibility of the ruling party to ensure the smooth functioning of the House. The opposition’s role is to raise issues and provide direction. However, managing these issues and maintaining the proceedings is the ruling party’s duty.”
On matters concerning students and youth, the SP MP asserted, “The entire opposition stands with them. Students across various regions are still grappling with numerous challenges. The voices of students are consistently raised in the House by all opposition parties. The opposition is united in support of students, and the proceedings should continue.”
In a related discussion, RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha questioned the central government regarding its promise to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. He asked, “What happened to that decision? The Union Home Minister cannot evade this issue. If he promised to restore statehood, why should he not be questioned about breaking that promise?”
