Solar Fair in Supaul on April 20: Learn About Free Electricity Scheme

Supaul, April 19: Residents of Supaul district in Bihar have received encouraging news. The electricity department will host a one-day solar fair on April 20, starting at 10 AM, at the electricity office premises located near Degree College Chowk. The primary aim of this fair is to raise awareness about solar energy and provide solutions to alleviate rising electricity bills.

During the event, detailed information about the central government’s “Prime Minister Solar Home Free Electricity Scheme” will be shared. According to departmental officials, consumers can significantly reduce their electricity expenses by installing solar panels on their rooftops under this scheme. Thanks to government subsidies, installing solar systems has become much more affordable and accessible than before.

Experts in the solar energy sector will be present at the fair to guide consumers on the costs of solar panels, selecting the appropriate capacity for their homes, installation processes, maintenance, and potential savings. Attendees will also learn how to benefit from government subsidies and the application process involved.

Notably, interested consumers will have the opportunity to apply for the scheme on the spot at the fair. Information regarding the necessary documents will also be provided on-site to ensure a smooth application process.

The electricity department has urged all electricity consumers in the district to participate in the solar fair in large numbers and take advantage of this scheme. Officials believe that this initiative will not only help reduce electricity bills but also serve as a significant step towards promoting clean and green energy.

Alok Kumar Ranjan, an official from the electricity department, stated in an interview, “A solar fair is being organized to promote the Prime Minister Solar Home Free Electricity Scheme. Consumers will be made aware of the scheme, and detailed information regarding subsidies will be provided, allowing them to apply on the spot.”

He added that the government is offering various subsidies for different wattages. To apply, consumers need to have their mobile number, electricity bill, property documents, and bank-related documents ready. By adopting solar energy, not only can economic savings be achieved, but public participation in environmental conservation can also be ensured. Thus, this fair stands as a crucial medium for both awareness and convenience.
