New Delhi, August 1: Government oil marketing companies have announced a reduction of over ₹200 in the price of the 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinder in major cities. This price cut provides relief to restaurants, hotels, and other commercial establishments reliant on this fuel.
In Delhi and Kolkata, the price of the 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinder has decreased by more than ₹200. Effective August 1, the new price in Delhi is now ₹2,728, while in Kolkata, it stands at ₹2,872.50.
However, this reduction applies only to commercial LPG users. There has been no change in the prices of the 14.2-kilogram domestic LPG cylinders.
Previously, on July 1, companies had reduced the price of the 19-kilogram commercial cylinder by up to ₹183.5. This adjustment came amid rising commercial LPG prices due to conflicts in West Asia.
Many have expressed gratitude to the government for the price cut. A young man running a tea shop in Vasant Kunj, Delhi, noted that the common person could only afford tea priced at ₹10. When gas prices rose, the cost of tea increased to ₹15. With this reduction, he hopes that tea can return to its previous price of ₹10.
Additionally, a businessman from Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, remarked, “The government has reduced the price by ₹192, which is great news for us. We hope prices will decrease further in the future. If that happens, we can attract more customers. Earlier, when LPG prices rose, we had to increase the prices of our sweets due to higher costs.”
