Mumbai, March 22: A disturbing incident has emerged from the DN Nagar area of Mumbai, where two minors allegedly strangled their friend to death. After committing the crime, the accused spent the night next to the victim’s body in the same room.
According to the DN Nagar police, two boys aged 15 and 17 have been taken into custody. They have since been sent to a juvenile correctional facility. Authorities believe the murder stemmed from an escalating conflict among the trio.
The three boys, originally from Bihar, shared a rented room in Ganesh Nagar, Andheri, and worked at a nearby restaurant. Their friendship appeared strong from the outside, but tensions were brewing beneath the surface.
Investigations revealed that the deceased frequently complained about his friends to the restaurant owner, leading to reprimands that fueled resentment among the accused. Additionally, it was reported that the victim made derogatory remarks about one of the accused’s sister, escalating the conflict further.
On the day of the incident, an argument broke out in their room, which quickly escalated into a violent altercation. Police reports indicate that one of the accused strangled the victim while the other held his legs down, resulting in the victim’s death.
After the murder, the two suspects washed their hands and faces and then slept in the same room next to the body. The following morning, they concocted a false story, claiming their friend had suddenly collapsed.
Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene and transported the victim to Cooper Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The autopsy revealed clear signs of strangulation.
During initial questioning, the suspects attempted to mislead the police. However, under intense interrogation, they eventually confessed to their crime. Law enforcement officials stated that the accused fabricated a story to hide the truth, but the autopsy report and subsequent questioning revealed their plot. The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the case.
