Sardar Singh is chief hockey coach

Chandigarh, March 8 : Former Indian Men’s Hockey Team Captain Sardar Singh has been appointed the Chief National Coach of India ‘A’ Men’s hockey team for the national camp to commence at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in Bengaluru. Sardar Singh is an Olympian who is currently posted in Haryana Police as a Deputy Superintendent of Poice. He is also a recipient of the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, Padam and Arjuna Award. “It is really a matter of pride for Haryana Police that our officer will be joining a national-level coaching programme in the capacity of Chief Coach. We have seen the wealth of experience, technical know-how and world-class abilities of Sardar Singh that will benefit budding talents, which will, in turn, strengthen Indian hockey manifold,” Haryana Director General of Police P K Agrawal said.
