Sanjay Raut Calls for Nationwide Drug-Free Campaign Starting from Gujarat

Sanjay Raut urges a nationwide drug-free campaign, responding to Amit Shahs Punjab deadline for 2029.

Mumbai, October 22 (Daily Kiran) : Central Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent statement about making Punjab drug-free by 2029 has drawn a sharp response from Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut. Raut emphasized that the drug de-addiction campaign should not be limited to Punjab elections but should extend across the entire country.

Using Maharashtra as an example, Raut raised serious allegations. He claimed, “In Maharashtra, a drug factory was operating next to the Deputy Chief Minister’s residence in Satara, and the police were unaware. The entire drug syndicate’s money flows into Maharashtra’s politics. Therefore, the drug-free campaign should not just be for the Punjab elections; it must be for the entire nation.”

Amit Shah has set a deadline of December 31, 2029, to eradicate illegal drugs and trafficking in Punjab. His assertion that the drug trade will be eliminated by 2029 prompted Raut’s comments.

Additionally, Raut commented on economist Parakala Prabhakar, husband of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, who plans to participate in a nationwide protest against the Election Commission‘s voter list SIR on October 23. Raut remarked, “What can I say? It’s a good thing. Parakala Prabhakar has always spoken out for democracy and farmers.”

Prabhakar is known for his outspoken views on the central government’s policies, and his involvement in the protest has become a topic of discussion. Raut welcomed his initiative.
