Congress Accuses Election Commission of Tampering with Voter Data in Pilibhit

Congress leaders allege tampering of voter data involving over 13,000 voters in Pilibhit, calling for an investigation by the Election Commission.

Pilibhit, October 22 (Daily Kiran) : Congress leaders have raised serious allegations against the Election Commission, claiming that voter data in Pilibhit has been manipulated. Imran Masood, a Congress MP, stated that details associated with the EPIC numbers of over 13,000 voters in Uttar Pradesh have been altered.

During a meeting of the INDI alliance regarding the electoral process, Masood emphasized that the party is not merely making accusations but is prepared to present evidence. “When it comes to 13,000 votes, this cannot be dismissed as a mistake,” he asserted.

He described the situation as grave, noting that the issue might have gone unnoticed if a citizen had not checked their voting details. This led to a deeper investigation by the party, revealing shocking discrepancies, including changes to the phone numbers linked to the EPIC numbers of the affected voters. Masood suggested that the alterations appear to be centrally orchestrated, raising concerns about the integrity of the Election Commission and its role in upholding democracy.

Masood criticized the NDA government, accusing it of undermining democracy and called for an investigation into the motives behind these actions. He reiterated that they are presenting documented proof of the tampering, which cannot be dismissed as mere allegations.

Uttar Pradesh Congress President, Aradhana Mishra, also spoke on the issue, outlining how the discrepancies emerged after the final list of voters was released on April 10. She confirmed that the party has verified these claims through their organization and presented the findings at a press conference.

Mishra noted that the Election Commission has acknowledged the situation and assured that action will be taken. She expressed confidence that the Congress party will continue to verify voter lists across districts to ensure transparency ahead of upcoming assembly elections.

The Congress party is determined to address this critical issue, emphasizing the need for accountability within the electoral process.
