Sanjay Nirupam Criticizes Mock Parliament Ahead of Major Rally in Delhi

Sanjay Nirupam labels the Mock Parliament as a farce, while the India Bloc emphasizes the fight to protect democracy ahead of their rally.

Mumbai, October 31 (Daily Kiran) : A ‘Mock Parliament‘ was held in Mumbai on October 31, organized by the India Bloc ahead of a major rally scheduled for November 1 at Delhi’s Ram Leela Maidan. The bloc described the event as a fight to save democracy, but Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam dismissed it as mere theatrics.

In an interview, Nirupam criticized the Congress Party, calling it a significant farce and claiming it has treated parliamentary proceedings with disdain since the NDA government took power. He accused the party of disrupting sessions and wasting public funds through their protests. Instead of engaging in discussions, he said, Congress members are now resorting to street performances like the ‘Mock Parliament.’

BJP MP Shambhu Sharan Patel echoed these sentiments, stating that the India alliance has been rejected by the public, as evidenced by their limited presence in Parliament. He claimed that their lack of trust in constitutional institutions leads them to create chaos in the country. Patel also criticized Rahul Gandhi for failing to fulfill his responsibilities as the Leader of the Opposition, likening his actions to those of a minor political figure.

BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal added that he represents 20 lakh voters, asserting that there is no one among them who feels their vote has been misused.

Conversely, Congress MP Imran Masood emphasized the importance of their message, stating that democracy is under threat. He expressed confidence that many people would join the rally on November 1, asserting that their goal is to confront those who undermine democracy.

Samajwadi Party leader Ashutosh Verma also voiced support for the India Bloc, declaring that the country is undergoing a significant transformation and that they are united in the fight to protect democracy.
