Samsung is all set to roll out the new One UI 8 update, which is based on Android 16. With this update, Samsung smartphones will become even smarter, offering new AI features, a refreshed design, and enhanced privacy.

Samsung brings a new One UI update to its phones every year. This time, the company is ready with One UI 8, based on Android 16. Unlike last year’s delayed One UI 7, Samsung plans to roll out the One UI 8 update much earlier this time. The beta version of One UI 8 started in May 2025 for the Galaxy S25 series. The recently launched Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 already come pre-installed with this update. The most notable part is that Samsung has started giving out updates from July itself, and by September, most flagship and mid-range Galaxy phones will receive it.
New Smart Features in One UI 8
With this new update, users will get several smart features such as Now Brief for important reminders and notifications, Quick Share for easier file sharing, time-based wallpapers, and better security settings. Samsung has put special focus on AI and privacy this time.
AI Features: Now Brief is now even smarter, offering parking reminders, smart home alerts, and battery notifications.
Auracast Audio Sharing: Share audio with multiple devices at once.
Quick Share: Faster and easier file transfers.
New Design for Calendar and Reminder Apps: Setting up events and tasks has become more straightforward.
Multitasking: New 90:10 split-screen option allows you to use one app larger and the other smaller.
Advanced Security: Advanced Protection Mode and Knox Vault have been further strengthened.
Update for Galaxy Watch Users
Not just phones, Galaxy Watch users will also get a fresh experience. One UI 8 Watch (Wear OS 6) brings health features like Running Coach, Antioxidant Index, and Multi-info Tiles.
