Mumbai, March 12: Samsung has shifted its focus back to the One UI 8.5 beta program as the Galaxy S26 series hits the shelves. Initially exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series, the One UI 8.5 beta is now available for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7.
The anticipation was palpable. Earlier this week, beta builds for these devices were detected on Samsung’s servers. Shortly after, the company established sections for the One UI 8.5 beta program on its community forum.
The first One UI 8.5 beta for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 comes with a firmware version ending in ZZC5 and a substantial download size of 4.2GB. As of now, the beta has been spotted in India and South Korea, with plans to expand to regions including the US, UK, Poland, and Germany.
If you own either of these foldable phones, you can gain early access to the latest features and upgrades in One UI 8.5. To do so, you must enroll in the One UI 8.5 beta program as detailed below.
How to Get One UI 8.5 Beta on Your Galaxy Device
Keep in mind that beta builds may contain bugs and unstable features. If you’re comfortable with that, follow these steps to obtain the One UI 8.5 beta on your device.
First Step: Enroll in the One UI 8.5 Beta Program
- Open the Samsung Members app on your phone.
- Ensure you’re signed in with your Samsung account.
- Tap on the One UI Beta Program banner. If it’s not visible, the beta program may not be available for your device yet.
- After tapping the beta banner, accept the terms and conditions to enroll.
Second Step: Download and Install the Update
- Navigate to Settings > Software updates and tap Download and install.
- Once the download is complete, tap Install now.
As this is a major upgrade, the installation process may take some time. After upgrading to One UI 8.5, you might notice increased battery usage during the initial days. This is normal as the device optimizes in the background following the upgrade.
