RSS Ideology Blamed for Minority Issues in India by SP Leader Dharmendra Singh

Lucknow, August 30: In response to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat‘s statements made in New York, as well as the ongoing controversy surrounding the “purification” in Haldwani, Dharmendra Singh, spokesperson for the Samajwadi Party (SP), expressed his views on various issues.

During the “One World, One Humanity” event in New York, Bhagwat emphasized that India’s identity lies in its diversity. He stated that any Hindu who believes Muslims should not exist in India cannot truly be a Hindu. In a conversation, Singh remarked, “A person with such a mindset cannot be a Hindu, but they can be part of the RSS. The RSS has been against minorities in India due to its ideology.” He highlighted ongoing issues like love jihad and forced conversions, urging the RSS to respond. “Making such statements in America while spreading hatred cannot go hand in hand,” he added.

Regarding the Congress party’s internal dissent, which has led to a planned protest outside the AICC headquarters in Delhi on September 8, Singh commented, “This is an internal matter for Congress. They have the right to voice their opinions in front of their leader. The Congress party should resolve this issue.”

On the topic of reservations, Singh responded to Jitan Ram Manjhi’s demand for the resignation of Union Minister Chirag Paswan, stating, “The double-engine government is colliding within itself. In Uttar Pradesh, Minister Sanjay Nishad is warning of protests against the government. Political parties in the NDA, including Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Anupriya Patel, came to power by making promises to their respective communities, but now they are enjoying ministerial positions under the BJP government. These leaders are continuously deceiving society with the BJP.”

Singh also addressed Rahul Gandhi’s remarks regarding the purification of the site where Mallikarjun Kharge was to speak in Haldwani, labeling it an insult to Dalits. He stated, “Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and Akhilesh Yadav talk about social justice, while the BJP has worked to divide society. The BJP’s hatred towards the PDA is evident, as shown by the cleansing of the site with Ganga water after Kharge’s speech. This mentality was also visible in 2017 when the Chief Minister‘s residence was cleansed with Ganga water after Akhilesh Yadav stepped down. Our fight is against this mindset.”
