
New Delhi, August 30: A significant opportunity has emerged for youth aspiring to work in the railway sector. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has invited applications for various positions, including Junior Engineer and Depot Material Superintendent, totaling 3,993 vacancies. Interested candidates can apply until September 13.
Among the 3,993 vacancies, there are 3,669 positions for Junior Engineers and 324 for Depot Material Superintendents. The recruitment spans multiple regions, with positions available in Ahmedabad (143), Ajmer (252), Bengaluru (298), Bhopal (113), Bhubaneswar (86), Bilaspur (124), Chandigarh (183), Chennai (362), Gorakhpur (198), Guwahati (329), Jammu-Srinagar (152), Kolkata (457), Malda (30), Mumbai (411), Muzaffarpur (17), Patna (73), Prayagraj (340), Ranchi (122), Secunderabad (110), Siliguri (92), and Thiruvananthapuram (101).
The online application process commenced on August 14, with the final date for applications set for September 13. Candidates wishing to fill out the application form can complete their registration on the RRB’s official website before the deadline. The last date for submitting the application fee is September 15.
Applicants must possess a three-year diploma or a BE/BTech degree in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognized university/institution for both positions. The minimum age for applicants is set at 18 years, while the maximum age is 33 years, calculated as of January 1, 2027. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per regulations.
Selection of eligible candidates will be based on a Computer-Based Test (CBT-I), followed by CBT-II, shortlisting, document verification (DV), and medical examination (ME). Selected candidates will receive a salary of ₹35,400 per month as per the 7th CPC pay level 6, along with additional benefits and allowances.
While filling out the form, candidates must pay the prescribed application fee online, which is ₹500 for General/OBC/EWS candidates and ₹250 for SC/ST/ex-servicemen/PwBD/women/transgender/minority or economically backward classes (EBC).
