RJD wins Bochaha assembly by-election

Patna, Apr 16 : RJD candidate Amar Paswan has defeated his nearest rival Baby Kumari of BJP by a margin of 36,653 votes in Assembly by-election held for Bochaha seat in Bihar. Official sources said here that Paswan got 82,562 votes while Baby Kumari got 45509 votes. Paswan emerged victorious by a margin of 36,653 votes. VIP candidate Geeta Kumari got 29,279 votes. Polling for the By-election in Bochaha seat was held on April 12. Amar Paswan is the son of Musafir Paswan who was sitting MLA of VIP from Bochaha seat. By-election was held after death of Musafir Paswan. RJD had given ticket to Amar Paswan to contest from Bochaha in Assembly by-election. By-election for Bochaha assembly seat was necessitated following death of sitting MLA Musafir Paswan of VIP. Altogether 13 candidates including 3 women were in fray. Meanwhile, Bihar RJD president Jagadanand Singh expressed his pleasure over victory of party candidate in Bochaha. He said that people had given their verdict in favour of RJD as they were dissatisfied with poor performance of NDA government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. KKS KK
