Mumbai, October 1 (Daily Kiran) : Riz Ahmed, the British-Pakistani actor, recently shared a light-hearted story about his mother’s encounter with Hollywood star Tom Cruise. During an appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” Ahmed revealed that his mother showed little excitement after meeting the renowned actor, simply referring to him as a “nice boy.”
When host Jimmy Fallon inquired about his mother, Ahmed described her as the best and noted her ability to leave an impression on others. He humorously recalled a photo with her, saying, “When I look at her, I feel like I’m trying to strike a Blue Steel pose, and she’s just laughing at me. That’s really what’s happening.”
Ahmed then recounted the amusing moment when his mother met not only Tom Cruise but also Prince William and Kate Middleton at the premiere of his film “Digger.” When he asked her about her impression of Cruise, she casually replied, “Nice boy.” Ahmed found her reaction quite funny.
He also shared another entertaining anecdote from the premiere, stating, “As we were about to go on stage to present the film to the royal family and other special guests, everyone was waiting—cast, crew, director, producer. At that moment, Tom turned, took a deep breath, and everyone thought he was about to give a speech. Instead, he simply pointed at me and said, ‘Riz.’ Everyone looked at me, and then he added, ‘Your mom is really nice.'”
Tom Cruise is currently in the spotlight for his upcoming film “Digger,” directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu. In the film, Cruise portrays Digger Rockwell, described as “the most powerful man in the world.” The movie is set to be released on October 2, 2026.
