New Delhi, December 8 (Daily Kiran) – Reliance Infrastructure, a unit of the Reliance Group led by industrialist Anil Ambani, is set to establish one of India’s most advanced, fully integrated solar manufacturing environments. This facility will include production of ingots, wafers, cells, and modules.
The Reliance Group announced on Monday that this proposal has been presented to investors by its branch, Reliance Infrastructure. The manufacturing unit will be equipped with next-generation technology encompassing ingots, wafers, cells, and modules. According to the company, this integrated platform aims to reduce import dependence and strengthen India’s clean energy security.
The facility will address the significant gap between demand and supply since India will require 55-60 gigawatts of solar modules annually by 2030, while the current upstream capacity remains low.
Another company within the Reliance Group, Reliance Power, revealed in its investor presentation that Reliance New Energies is promoting a transition from conventional solar power to hybrid and firm, round-the-clock renewable energy (RTC). India’s current installed firm storage capacity is less than one gigawatt but is expected to increase to 250 gigawatts by 2032. Domestic manufacturing currently meets less than 10 percent of the anticipated demand.
