Kolhapur/Ratnagiri, March 20 : Ratnagiri District Collector BN Patil on Sunday rubbished the weather forecast reports, which claimed that cyclone would either hit Ratnagiri in west coast of Konkan area on Monday, or in the next two days. In an official statement here, Patil appealed to the people of Ratnagiri not to get frightened without a reason. He said the India Meteorological Department had yesterday alerted that a cyclone was likely to hit the Konkan coastline on March 21, including Ratnagiri, as low pressure in Bay of Bengal area may develop into depression. But Collector Patil, while rejecting all claims of cyclone hitting Konkan region, appealed to the people, specially fishermen, not to get frightened without a reason, as there was no truth in the said report.
