Lucknow, February 2: Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha MP Ramgopal Yadav sharply criticised the Centre’s budget and policies, saying the budget is not meant for the common people but only for a select few.
He pointed out that while there is much talk about a developed India, no one has actually visited villages to see the ground reality. Referring to the Jal Jeevan Mission, he said that although the President mentioned it in his speech, the truth is that all the funds have been misused, and people in Delhi are turning a blind eye to it.
Ramgopal Yadav stated clearly that from the beginning, this budget was never meant for the common man. Instead, it is designed to benefit certain privileged groups. According to him, the country’s policies are not aimed at the poor, farmers, or the general public but are focused on a few special interests.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party spokesperson Ashutosh Verma also attacked the BJP. He said the party works only to push its own agenda. Using the bullet train as an example, he noted that despite nearly ten years passing, the train is yet to run. People had hoped new IITs and IIMs would open to increase education and job opportunities, but the government’s focus now seems limited to those making reels on social media.
Verma questioned the direction in which the government wants to take society and alleged that the BJP has allocated more funds to its election states in this budget. He highlighted that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting received thousands of crores, which will end up with certain channels, media houses, and YouTubers—a fact that is no secret.
He further claimed that the BJP has no concern for India’s 140 crore people, especially the middle and poor classes, whose conditions are worsening. The government refuses to address these issues and works only for big industrialists, a fact that is clearly visible in the budget.
