Lucknow, March 16: Rakesh Sachan, the Minister for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, Khadi and Village Industries, Sericulture, Handloom, and Textile in Uttar Pradesh, held a review meeting on Monday to assess the progress of departmental schemes. He directed officials to ensure maximum utilization of the budget before the end of the fiscal year and to complete pending projects within the stipulated timeframe.

During the review meeting at the Export Building in Kaiserbagh, the minister took a comprehensive look at the budget expenditure for the fiscal year 2025-26, the progress of various schemes, and the status of pending projects. He made it clear that any negligence or unnecessary delays in any scheme would not be tolerated, and all departmental officials must meet their set targets on time.

Officials reported that the process of utilizing the remaining budget before March 31 has been expedited to avoid any hindrance in the implementation of schemes. The review also included an in-depth discussion on the progress of the Vishwakarma Labor Honor Scheme. Officials informed that traditional artisans such as carpenters, blacksmiths, potters, tailors, and cobblers are receiving training and modern toolkits under this scheme.

The minister instructed that the training and toolkit distribution process be accelerated to benefit as many artisans as possible. The progress of the Chief Minister’s Youth Self-Employment Scheme, the Chief Minister’s Youth Entrepreneur Development Campaign, and the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme was also reviewed. Officials reported that a significant number of youths have been provided bank loans and margin money for self-employment under the Chief Minister’s Youth Self-Employment Scheme, while thousands of entrepreneurs have received financial assistance through the ODOP funding support scheme.

Rakesh Sachan also directed the acceleration of progress on industrial estates, cluster parks, and Unity Mall projects. He stated that the completion of these projects would boost industrial activities in the state and create new employment opportunities.

He emphasized that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government is continuously working to promote micro, small, and medium enterprises to enhance employment and self-employment opportunities for youth. The minister instructed officials to regularly monitor all schemes and prepare a solid action plan to complete pending projects within the next six months, ensuring the acceleration of the state’s industrial and economic development.
