Rajasthans Entrepreneurship and Gujarats Innovation: A Pathway to Opportunities for Youth, Says Minister Bawaliya
Gujarat invites Rajasthans business community to explore investment opportunities, fostering youth engagement and economic collaboration.

Jaipur, October 22 (Daily Kiran) : Gujarat’s government extended an invitation to Rajasthan’s business community to explore investment prospects during a roadshow held in Jaipur. The event was organized ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027, scheduled for January 10-12 at the Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.
Entrepreneurs, traders, and business representatives from various parts of Rajasthan participated in the roadshow. The objective was to create a platform for discussing investment opportunities and potential partnerships between the two neighboring states. The Gujarat delegation also held individual meetings with industry representatives, sharing insights on the state’s business-friendly policies, infrastructure, industrial ecosystem, and government support for investors.
In an exclusive e-interview, Kunwarjibhai Bawaliya, the state’s Minister for Labor, Skill Development, Employment, and Rural Development, elaborated on the potential for collaboration between Rajasthan and Gujarat.
When asked about the relationship between the two states, Bawaliya noted that it is not a new phenomenon. The long shared border, centuries of trade, and cultural exchanges have laid a strong foundation for these ties. The faith in Shri Nathji of Nathdwara and Dwarkadhish connects thousands of pilgrims from both states each year.
Regarding business collaboration, he highlighted that Gujarati and Marwari entrepreneurs have successfully established ventures in trade, manufacturing, finance, and exports over generations.
Bawaliya expressed that his greeting of “Khammaghani” symbolizes friendship from Gujarat to Rajasthan. He views Rajasthan as one of the most dynamic development centers in the country, with Jaipur emerging as a hub for trade, technology, and innovation while preserving its heritage.
He emphasized the concrete benefits Rajasthan’s industries could gain from working with Gujarat, which serves as India’s export gateway. The state’s ports and logistics facilities provide a natural route for Rajasthan’s manufacturing capabilities to reach global markets. The Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, which runs through both states, creates a shared economic corridor linking manufacturing centers, logistics parks, and export hubs.
Looking ahead, Bawaliya mentioned that Gujarat is not only focused on existing industries but also on developing future sectors. Under the Developed Gujarat Industrial Policy 2026, the state is concentrating on semiconductors, electronics, global capability centers, artificial intelligence, and advanced manufacturing.
He pointed out that six out of twelve projects approved under the India Semiconductor Mission are located in Gujarat. This initiative is not limited to chip manufacturing; it is fostering a complete industrial ecosystem that offers opportunities for Rajasthan’s enterprises as well.
Discussing the significance of Dholera and Khavda in Gujarat’s development journey, Bawaliya noted that Dholera is emerging as a key destination for high-tech industries, while Khavda is positioning Gujarat as a leader in clean energy.
In traditional sectors like gems and textiles, he highlighted the complementary nature of Jaipur’s renowned gem industry and Surat’s diamond processing industry. By combining Rajasthan’s strengths in wool, weaving, and apparel with Gujarat’s leadership in fibers, textiles, and technical fabrics, both states can enhance their reach in global markets.
Bawaliya sees great potential for partnership in renewable energy, with Rajasthan leading in solar power and Gujarat’s Khavda energy complex creating new opportunities in clean energy manufacturing, green hydrogen, and green ammonia.
He also discussed how Rajasthan’s mineral wealth could support the ceramic industry in Morbi and how both states could develop integrated tourism circuits that showcase their shared heritage.
Large investments can create a network of suppliers, generating opportunities for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which are vital for job creation and inclusive growth.
As the Minister of Labor and Skills, Bawaliya believes that the future competitiveness of any economy relies equally on talent and skills as it does on investment. He expressed Gujarat’s commitment to preparing its youth not just for jobs but for leadership roles in future industries through ongoing investments in skill development, research, and industry-academia collaboration.
In conclusion, Bawaliya believes that the partnership between Rajasthan’s entrepreneurship and Gujarat’s innovation ecosystem can create immense opportunities for the youth across the country. This collaboration aims not only to attract investment but also to generate employment, foster innovation, strengthen MSMEs, and build world-class value chains.
