Rajasthan Police Seizes ₹1 Crore Worth of Drugs in Nagaur Operation

Jaipur, March 24: Rajasthan Police’s joint team achieved a significant milestone by seizing approximately ₹1 crore worth of 979.02 grams of synthetic drug MDMA and arresting one suspect. The operation involved the Degana police station and the District Special Team (DST).

This action was part of Operation Sankalp, a special campaign by the Nagaur police aimed at creating a ‘drug-free Nagaur.’ The illegal substances were cleverly concealed in a bag of chili and were recovered during a raid in Khudi Kala at Chokha Ki Dhani.

The operation was conducted under the direction of Superintendent of Police Roshan Meena, with oversight from Additional SP Asharam Chaudhary and Circle Officer Jaiprakash Beniwal. Acting on a specific tip-off, the team led by Degana SHO Harish Sankhala and DST in-charge Vijay Singh executed the raid. During the search, police discovered the hidden MDMA at the residence of the accused, Shrawanram Bishnoi (42).

Despite attempts to evade detection, the operation was executed with precision and coordination, resulting in the seizure of the prohibited items. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at the Degana police station, and Shrawanram has been arrested. Additionally, another suspect, Vineet Bishnoi from Mertha Road, remains at large, and efforts to apprehend him are ongoing. The investigation has been assigned to Thawla SHO Ashok Kumar Chaudhary.

Police emphasized the collaborative efforts of Degana police and DST, highlighting the roles of SHO Harish Sankhala and DST Head Constable Mahendra.

Officials reiterated their commitment to taking stringent action against narcotics traffickers under Operation Sankalp. They stated that this seizure reflects the police’s determination to dismantle the drug network operating in the area. Furthermore, such operations are deemed essential for protecting youth from the dangers of synthetic drugs and ensuring public safety.
