Manchester | LIVE Update : Day 2 of the fourth Test between India and England for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy is underway at Old Trafford, Manchester. Rain interrupted play, prompting early lunch on Thursday.

Before the interruption, India reached 321/6 in their first innings. Washington Sundar and Rishabh Pant remained unbeaten at the crease. Despite an injury, Pant came out to bat, showing remarkable grit.

Shardul Thakur was dismissed for 41, caught by Ben Duckett off Ben Stokes, who also claimed the wickets of Sai Sudharsan (61) and Shubman Gill (12). Ravindra Jadeja (20) fell to Jofra Archer, who had him caught.

India resumed play from their overnight score of 264/4. England had won the toss and opted to bowl first on Wednesday. From India, Sai Sudharsan (61) and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (58) both scored fifties. KL Rahul contributed 46, while Pant added 37. Captain Gill managed only 12.

BCCI Confirms: Jurel to Keep Wickets in Place of Injured Pant

The BCCI shared an injury update on Pant via X (formerly Twitter). The post stated:
“After sustaining an injury to his right leg on Day 1 of the Manchester Test, Rishabh Pant will not keep wickets for the remainder of the match. Dhruv Jurel will take over wicketkeeping duties.”
