International Yoga Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, June 21: The 12th International Yoga Day saw a remarkable display of enthusiasm among the people of Jammu and Kashmir. In Jammu, a unique underwater yoga session attracted significant attention, featuring young participants who showcased a blend of fitness, mental balance, and swimming skills while practicing yoga underwater.

During the event, a yoga instructor highlighted the pivotal role Prime Minister Narendra Modi has played in promoting yoga globally. He emphasized that yoga is an essential life skill that strengthens individuals both physically and mentally. One of yoga’s greatest advantages is its flexibility; it can be practiced anywhere and at any time, requiring no specific location or set schedule. People can even engage in yoga regularly from the comfort of their homes.

In Srinagar, a large number of participants enthusiastically joined in the celebrations for International Yoga Day. Individuals from various age groups practiced yoga together, demonstrating their awareness of health and fitness.

One participant shared the numerous benefits of yoga, stating that they have been practicing it regularly for the past two years. They noted that the Youth Services and Sports Department also promotes yoga. Yoga helps maintain healthy lungs and proves beneficial in keeping youth away from harmful habits like substance abuse.

Another participant remarked on yoga’s significant advantages for good health and overall well-being. They mentioned that their school conducts daily yoga sessions, which greatly enhance the physical and mental development of children.
