New Delhi, February 11: BJP MP Jagannath Sarkar has shared his views on various pressing issues in Indian politics. He accused the opposition of engaging in vote bank politics and disrupting the parliamentary atmosphere.
Responding to comments about dividing North and South India, Sarkar stated, “Such thinking is misguided. It is vote bank politics. Statements like these are made to remain in power. The theory of separating North and South has been propagated since British rule, but our India has always been one. Our culture is also unified. To advance the country, we must work together; only then can we achieve a developed India.”
Regarding the opposition’s motion of no confidence against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, he noted that the Speaker has clarified that parliamentary procedures will continue until the motion is formally presented on March 9. He emphasized that the BJP is working in the national interest, while the opposition is attempting to create a disruptive atmosphere by raising illegal issues in Parliament. “This is not the right path,” he added.
Sarkar also expressed concern over the murder of a Hindu businessman in Bangladesh ahead of elections. The 62-year-old was reportedly kidnapped and then killed with a sharp weapon. He mentioned that the family is seeking justice and stated that such incidents are extremely tragic, calling for strict action against the perpetrators.
On the controversy surrounding former Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane’s book, Sarkar pointed out that the General himself clarified on social media that the book has not yet been published. He criticized Rahul Gandhi for making serious allegations against the Prime Minister and the government based on the book’s content. He stressed that discussing a book in Parliament requires adherence to rules and permissions. Creating a ruckus without following due process is inappropriate.
Targeting Rahul Gandhi, he remarked, “Playing the role of the opposition is not a small task. Stability and maturity are essential in politics. Currently, Rahul Gandhi does not exhibit that maturity.”
