New Delhi, April 4: Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha has recently launched a vigorous rebuttal against allegations made by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on social media. He firmly stated that all accusations against him are baseless and absurd.
In a post on his social media account X, Chadha expressed, “I did not want to speak, but remaining silent would make the repeated lies seem true. Three accusations. Not a shred of truth in them.”
Chadha also shared a video in which he claims that a completely scripted campaign against him has been underway since yesterday. He emphasized that this is not a coincidence but a clear and coordinated attack. Initially, he thought it best not to respond, but he realized that if a lie is repeated often enough, people might start believing it. Thus, he felt it necessary to address the matter.
The first accusation was that when the opposition walks out of the house, Chadha remains seated and does not support them. He categorically denied this, asserting that he has always supported the opposition during every walkout. He challenged anyone to provide an instance where he did not participate in a walkout. Chadha pointed out that CCTV cameras are installed throughout the Rajya Sabha, making it easy to verify the truth.
The second allegation claimed that Chadha refused to sign an impeachment motion against the Chief Election Commissioner. He dismissed this as false, stating that neither had he been officially nor unofficially asked to do so. Many of the ten AAP MPs did not sign the motion themselves. He noted that the petition required fifty signatures, while the number of opposition MPs totals 105. He questioned why all the blame was placed on him.
The third accusation suggested that Chadha is afraid and thus raises trivial issues. He clarified that he does not engage in shouting or using abusive language in Parliament. His goal is to raise public issues. He has brought up various concerns in Parliament, including GST, income tax, Punjab’s water issues, Delhi’s air quality, the condition of government schools, public healthcare, railway passenger problems, menstrual health, unemployment, and inflation. He stated that his four-year record in Parliament speaks for itself. His aim has always been to highlight public issues, not to create a spectacle for himself.
In conclusion, Chadha asserted that all false accusations against him will be exposed. Every question will be answered. He remarked that he is injured, and as a result, he is even more formidable.
