New Delhi, March 24: Qatar Airways has operated multiple flights from March 20 to 22, ensuring the return of a significant number of Indian citizens to various cities in India. During this period, the airline conducted 25 flights, facilitating the travel of approximately 7,750 Indian nationals.
In light of these developments, the Indian Embassy has issued essential guidelines and safety advisories for the Indian community residing in Qatar.
The embassy urged community members to closely follow the directives and recommendations provided by Qatari authorities. Local officials emphasized that adhering to instructions from competent authorities and safety teams at workplaces promotes secure behavior within buildings.
The embassy also noted that efforts are ongoing to gradually resume in-person classes at various educational institutions. They encouraged individuals to comply with emergency procedures, including ‘shelter-in-place’ measures within academic campuses.
Additionally, the ambassador met with a group of parents representing Indian students preparing for the JEE and NEET examinations. The embassy is coordinating closely with the National Testing Agency in India and will keep all stakeholders informed about developments and updates.
Meanwhile, Air India and Air India Express are set to operate 24 scheduled and unscheduled flights on March 24, connecting the West Asia region. Both airlines will maintain their scheduled services between Jeddah and India, including ten flights between India and Jeddah. Air India will operate one return flight from Delhi and two from Mumbai, while Air India Express will run one flight each from Hyderabad and Kozhikode.
Furthermore, Air India Express will conduct four scheduled flights from Muscat, including services from Delhi and Mumbai. In addition to scheduled services, both airlines will operate a total of ten unscheduled flights to and from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), depending on slot availability at departure stations and other prevailing conditions. These flights are being conducted with the necessary permissions from relevant Indian and local regulatory authorities.
