Chandigarh, August 11: Ahead of Independence Day, Punjab’s DGP Gaurav Yadav held a review meeting with senior officials to discuss law and order. The meeting took place on Tuesday and included officials from the Rupnagar range, which encompasses Rupnagar, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, and Fatehgarh Sahib.
DGP Gaurav Yadav shared on the social media platform ‘X’, “Today, I chaired a range-level law and order review meeting with senior officials from the Rupnagar range in SAS Nagar, which includes Rupnagar, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, and Fatehgarh Sahib.”
He further stated, “I engaged with police officers and staff, listened to their suggestions, and encouraged them to remain vigilant, confident, and fully committed to their responsibilities. Officials were instructed to maintain better coordination, ensure visible policing, and respond swiftly and effectively to any new challenges.”
The DGP affirmed, “Punjab Police is fully prepared and committed to ensuring a safe and peaceful Independence Day across the state.”
Earlier on Monday, the DGP visited Ludhiana. He posted on ‘X’ about his visit, stating, “After completing reviews in Amritsar and Jalandhar, I visited Ludhiana and held a security review meeting with the Ludhiana Commissionerate police and officials from the Ludhiana range ahead of Independence Day.”
DGP Gaurav Yadav noted, “We reviewed the policing plan for Independence Day, focusing on police presence and effective deployment, as well as security at celebration venues and gathering spots. Our policing should be proactive and people-centered, prepared for every situation, allowing citizens to celebrate our national festival with confidence, pride, and a sense of security. Punjab Police is committed to ensuring a safe and peaceful Punjab.”
