Punjab CM Accuses BJP of Turning State into a Laboratory of Fear

Ropar, May 6: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday of attempting to transform Punjab into a ‘laboratory of fear and violence’ ahead of the elections. He stated that the recent bomb blasts in Amritsar and Jalandhar were part of a calculated strategy to destabilize the state following the passage of the anti-blasphemy law.

Comparing the situation to West Bengal, Mann claimed that the BJP aims to polarize voters by spreading communal tension, terror, and unrest in election-bound states. However, he emphasized that the peace-loving people of Punjab will not allow the BJP to undermine the unity achieved through hard work.

Speaking to the media during the Shukrana Yatra, CM Mann remarked, “The BJP is trying to incite unrest in Punjab similar to its tactics in Bengal before the elections. However, the people of Punjab are politically aware and united against such conspiracies.”

He added, “Violence, division, and communal tension are the hallmarks of the BJP. They are attempting to instigate fear and violence in Punjab to win the upcoming elections. Nevertheless, their nefarious plans will never succeed in Punjab, as while anything can sprout from our fertile land, the seeds of hatred will never take root here.”

Mann reiterated the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government’s commitment to maintaining peace, unity, and democratic values, stating that every Punjabi begins their day with prayers for the welfare of all humanity. Punjab has always symbolized communal harmony, resilience, and brotherhood, and any attempts to disrupt this atmosphere will be met with strong opposition from both the government and the public.

The Chief Minister condemned the recent explosions in the state, calling them clear signs of efforts to destabilize Punjab ahead of the elections. He assured the public that every such conspiracy would be thwarted.
